This is a draft time line in Spring 2003, Fall 2003, Fall 2006 and Spring 2009, I can see that Paul Smith always has one main theme hue in his collection, although he will use many colors.
He like to use analogous color for some high light point, super-bright stripes, loud prints, contrasting colors, the main colors always are achromatic / low chroma/high value colors(London color-khaki,brown) , so you will not feel uncomfortable when you look at Paul Smith style.
In this period, why do Paul Smith like to do so much playful color? Because he want to have fun in this London quite city when we add some colors on it. It will be totally different and feel very fresh. Therefore, he like to use many green, blue, orange color to give energetic feeling in commercial city.
